How To Create a New Follower Alert on TikTok LIVE Using TikControl

Step 1: Open TikControl and Log In

Start by opening TikControl.

Go to Settings, then select Account. The most important thing here is to make sure your TikTok account is logged in properly.

Once your account is connected, you can start creating your follower alert.

Step 2: Create a New Alert Action

At the top of TikControl, click Alerts, then go to Actions.

There are three main parts to setting this up. The first step is creating the action that will appear on screen.

Click New Action.

Give your action a name. For example, you could call it:

New Follower

Next, choose the display duration. This controls how long the alert stays on screen. For example, you could set it to 4 seconds.

Then, enable the alert text option and type the message you want viewers to see. For example:

Step 3: Customise the Follower Alert

Now you can customise how the alert looks.

TikControl gives you several options for adjusting the style of your alert. You can change things like the text appearance, glow, border, and other visual settings.

One useful setting is inside Advanced Options. Make sure the text sizes are consistent, otherwise the alert text can look uneven on screen.

You may also want to add a border around the text. A black text border can make your alert much easier to read, especially if your stream has a busy background.

You can also add a glow effect to make the alert stand out more.

Once you’re happy with the design, enable Run Sequentially, then click Save.

Step 4: Create the Follow Event

Now you need to connect the alert action to a TikTok LIVE event.

Click New Event.

For the audience, choose All.

For the event type, choose Follow.

Under Actions, select the follower alert action you just created. In this example, that would be New Follower.

You can ignore the random option for this setup.

Click Save.

Step 5: Copy Your TikControl Screen URL

Next, you need to add your TikControl alert screen to your streaming software.

In TikControl, find Screen 1 and click the copy button. This copies the screen URL that will be added to your broadcasting software.

This works with TikTok LIVE Studio, OBS Studio, Streamlabs, Meld Studio, and similar streaming tools.

Step 6: Add the Alert to TikTok LIVE Studio

In TikTok LIVE Studio, click Add Source.

Choose the Link option. In other software, this may be called Browser Source instead.

Paste the TikControl screen URL into the URL box.

Then adjust the size and settings until the alert fits your stream layout. For example, you might set the source to 1080 by 600, then resize it on your scene.

If your alert uses sound, make sure sound is enabled for the source. You can also keep the source active so it is ready to trigger during your stream.

Click Apply.

Once the source has been added, you can right-click it and rename it. For example:

Step 7: Test the Follower Alert

Go back to TikControl and find your follower alert action.

Look to the right of the action and click the play button.

Then quickly switch back to your broadcasting software.

You should now see your TikTok LIVE follower alert appear on screen. If it does not look right, go back into TikControl and adjust the size, border, glow, or display settings until it matches your stream style.
