Send OBS to TikTok LIVE Studio (Video + Audio)
Send your existing OBS scenes into TikTok LIVE Studio without rebuilding the whole setup. The virtual camera carries your picture; VB-CABLE carries your microphone, desktop sound and alerts separately.
This is a Windows walkthrough for streamers who already have their OBS scenes ready. You need access to LIVE Studio and permission to use a virtual camera on your account. This route does not need a TikTok stream key, but it does not bypass TikTok's access restrictions.
1. Download the tools
Close OBS and LIVE Studio before installing plugins or the audio driver.
OBS Studio: use your existing scenes and audio sources.
Aitum Vertical: adds a portrait canvas and the virtual-camera controls used in this walkthrough.
Aitum Multi: optional for sending OBS to additional streaming destinations. It is not required for the audio cable.
VB-CABLE: carries the audio mix from OBS into LIVE Studio.
Run the Aitum installers. For VB-CABLE, extract the downloaded ZIP, run the Windows 64-bit setup as administrator and install the driver. Restart your computer after installing VB-CABLE.
Keep your headphones as your normal Windows playback device. The cable is the route between the apps, not a replacement for listening through your headset.
2. Start Aitum's virtual camera
Open OBS and check your landscape and portrait scenes. In Aitum Vertical's settings, set the virtual camera to Both, save the setting and start its virtual camera.
Both sends a combined landscape-and-portrait view. The next step is to crop the part you need in LIVE Studio. The video demonstrates this combined method rather than rebuilding either layout in LIVE Studio.
3. Add the OBS picture to LIVE Studio
In LIVE Studio, choose your landscape or portrait layout.
Click Add source, choose Camera and add the OBS virtual camera from the device list.
Hold Alt while dragging the source's edge handles to crop away the other layout.
Use Fit to screen, then lock the source in position. Give it a recognisable name, such as OBS Virtual Camera.
If the virtual camera is unavailable or locked, check the requirements shown on your own TikTok account. The video describes a streaming-history requirement, but the exact unlock conditions can vary; a fixed number of streams is not a guarantee of access.
Switch scenes in OBS to check the picture changes in LIVE Studio. No audio through the virtual camera is expected: that needs the separate cable route below.
4. Send the OBS audio mix into VB-CABLE
In OBS, open Settings → Audio. Check that your microphone and desktop audio use the devices you actually intend to capture.
Under the advanced audio settings, change Monitoring Device to CABLE Input (VB-Audio Virtual Cable), then save. The names can look backwards: OBS sends into CABLE Input, and LIVE Studio receives from CABLE Output.
Use a headset to reduce the chance of your microphone picking up speaker playback. NVIDIA Broadcast is optional. If your microphone needs noise suppression, apply it to that microphone in OBS or your chosen microphone-processing app, not to the entire finished mix.
5. Enable monitoring for every sound LIVE Studio needs
Open Advanced Audio Properties from the OBS Audio Mixer. Enable monitoring separately for your microphone, desktop or game sound, music and any alert source that needs to reach LIVE Studio.
Select Monitoring Enabled. Keep the source's output speaker/mute control unmuted and its relevant output track selected when that source must also be heard on OBS's own stream or recording.
The video includes a TikFinity alert example. Check that the alert actually produces audio in the OBS mixer before expecting it to arrive in LIVE Studio. For a browser alert that needs its own OBS mixer control, check Control audio via OBS in the browser source's properties.
6. Receive CABLE Output in LIVE Studio
Open LIVE Studio's Audio Mixer.
Mute or remove the speaker/system-audio sources that would capture a second copy of the OBS sound.
Mute or remove duplicate direct microphone inputs.
Open the microphone source's Device settings and select CABLE Output (VB-Audio Virtual Cable).
Open Enhancements and turn off noise suppression and echo cancellation for this cable input.
Lock the audio settings once the route is correct.
LIVE Studio treats the cable as a microphone device, but it contains your complete mix. Gameplay, music and alerts will therefore move the same microphone meter as your voice. That is normal.
Keep microphone processing in OBS or NVIDIA Broadcast. Applying microphone cleanup to the finished cable mix can also affect the music and alerts you are trying to send.
7. Record a short test in both apps
Put OBS and LIVE Studio side by side and check the meters while you speak, play desktop or game sound, and trigger a test alert. Then make a short local recording in LIVE Studio and another in OBS.
In OBS, Settings → Output shows the recording path. Play both recordings back after stopping them and check each sound is present once. Keep playback out of your active capture route to avoid sending it around again.
Picture but no sound: check OBS's Monitoring Device is CABLE Input and LIVE Studio's microphone device is CABLE Output.
Voice but no game sound or alerts: enable monitoring for the missing OBS source too.
Doubled sound or echo: check for a second direct microphone or system-audio source in LIVE Studio.
LIVE Studio has sound but OBS's recording does not: check the OBS output mute control and recording-track selection as well as monitoring.
Once the recordings sound right, the route is ready for your own live-stream checks. A moving meter alone does not prove the finished recording sounds correct.
Need the longer setup walkthrough?
For the wider scene and source setup, use the full virtual-camera guide or the full Aitum Vertical guide. This walkthrough is focused on getting an existing OBS picture and audio mix into LIVE Studio.
