How To Add Like Alerts To TikTok LIVE
TikControl can show a custom alert when a viewer reaches a set number of likes on your TikTok LIVE. The basic setup is free, and you can use it with TikTok LIVE Studio, OBS Studio, Meld Studio or Streamlabs.
You will create the alert action first, connect it to a likes event, add its URL to your streaming software and test the result before going live.
What you need
A Windows computer
TikControl installed
The correct TikTok account connected inside TikControl
TikTok LIVE Studio, OBS Studio, Meld Studio or Streamlabs

Connect your TikTok account
Open the TikControl menu. Depending on your layout, it may appear across the top or down the side.
Go to Settings, choose Account, and check that the correct TikTok account is connected. Do this before building the alert so you do not test it against the wrong account.
Create the like-alert action
Open Alerts, then choose Actions. Select New Action.
Give the action a clear name such as `Like alert`. Set a short duration. Three seconds is a sensible starting point for a like alert; a longer duration is more useful for something such as a gift alert.
Keep the action on Screen 1 if you are using the free method described below. For the action itself, choose Alert to place text on screen.
You can insert TikControl's variables rather than typing viewer details manually. For example, create a message in this format:
{username} sent {likecount} likes, thanks!
Use the variable controls shown inside TikControl, so the app inserts the supported placeholders correctly. You can then change the text size, colour and animation, and use the preview to check the result.
A useful starting point is to make the four font-size settings consistent. Once the alert is working, adjust the colours and effects to match your stream.
Press Save when the action looks right.
Connect the action to TikTok LIVE likes
Creating the action is only half of the setup. You now need an event that tells TikControl when to play it.
Scroll to Events and select New Event. Use these settings:
Set Audience to All.
Set the trigger type to Likes.
Choose a minimum number of likes, such as 100.
Select the like-alert action you just created.
Make sure the event is activated in the top-right corner.
Leave random variation off unless you have created more than one action and deliberately want TikControl to choose between them.
Press Save Event.
The minimum prevents the alert from playing after every single like. Start with a threshold such as 100, then raise or lower it based on how quickly viewers tap during your streams.
Add the alert to your streaming software
TikControl provides two routes to the alert URL.
Free method
Return to Alerts and Actions, find Screen 1, then copy its URL. This lets you add the individual alert screen without paying for Premium.
Premium overlay editor
If you already use TikControl Premium, open Overlays and Editor, then copy the overlay URL from the top-right corner. Premium is not required for the like alert in this guide.
The rest of the process is the same, whichever URL you use.
Add the link to TikTok LIVE Studio
In TikTok LIVE Studio:
Select Add Source.
Choose Link.
Paste the TikControl URL with Ctrl + V.
Add the source.
You may initially see only an empty or outlined box. That is normal when no alert is playing. Select the source to move and resize it. Hold Alt while dragging the handles if you need to crop the source.
Place it where the alert will be easy to read without covering important parts of your stream. The same URL can be added as a browser source in OBS Studio, Streamlabs or Meld Studio.
Test the alert before going live
Return to TikControl and open the action or event section. Use the play icon to trigger a test. Testing from the action section is usually the clearest option because it proves the visual action itself works.
Switch back to your streaming software and check that the alert appears in the correct position. If it is too small, select the source and resize it. If it disappears too quickly while you are arranging the layout, temporarily increase the action duration, finish positioning it, then change the duration back to your normal short setting.
Before your next LIVE, confirm four things:
The correct TikTok account is connected.
The likes event is activated.
The event points to the correct action.
The source is visible, readable and tested in your streaming software.
Once those checks pass, your TikTok LIVE like alert is ready.
