TikControl is a useful tool for adding alerts, overlays, and interactive elements to your TikTok LIVE computer stream. In this guide, I’ll show you two ways to add TikTok LIVE alerts using TikControl: the easier paid method and a free method that still works well if you do not want to upgrade.

Before You Start
Before adding alerts to your stream, make sure you have downloaded the TikControl desktop app and logged in to your TikTok account inside the TikControl account settings.
Once that is done, you can choose between two methods:
Using TikControl’s paid overlay editor
Adding individual alert links manually for free
Method 1: Add TikTok LIVE Alerts With TikControl’s Paid Overlay Editor
The paid method is the easiest way to add multiple TikTok LIVE alerts to your stream because you only need to add one link to your streaming software.
Inside TikControl, open the overlay editor. This works a bit like the scenes and sources layout you may already know from TikTok LIVE Studio, OBS Studio, Streamlabs, or Meld Studio.
On the left-hand side, you can add the alerts and overlays you want to use. For example, you might add a general alert screen for follows and gifts, or a specific panel such as a Community Fest panel.
Once you have added your alerts, click on each source to edit it on the canvas. You can drag alerts around, resize them, zoom in and out, and use the settings panel on the right to fine-tune how everything looks.
When your overlay looks good, copy the overlay link from TikControl.
Add the TikControl Overlay Link to Your Streaming Software
Open your streaming software and add a new source.
In TikTok LIVE Studio, this is usually called a Link Source. In OBS Studio, Streamlabs, or Meld Studio, this is usually called a Browser Source.
Paste your TikControl overlay link into the URL box.
For TikTok LIVE Studio, set the custom resolution to:
780 x 1920
For OBS Studio, Streamlabs, Meld Studio, or other streaming software, use:
1080 x 1920
Make sure the source is active and that sound is enabled if your alerts include audio.
In TikTok LIVE Studio, the source may not appear correctly straight away. Click the source and use the Fit to screen button to centre it properly.
Once that is done, your TikControl overlay should now be added to your TikTok LIVE stream.
Test Your Alerts
Before going live, test each alert inside TikControl. Open the relevant alert in TikControl and use the test button to make sure it appears correctly in your streaming software.
This lets you check the position, size, sound, and overall look before your viewers trigger the alerts live.
Method 2: Add TikTok LIVE Alerts With the Free TikControl Method
The free method works slightly differently. Instead of creating one full overlay link, you add individual TikControl links one by one to your streaming software.
This takes longer, but it is a good option if you only need a few alerts or do not want to use the paid overlay editor.
In TikControl, go to the alerts or actions page where you have created your alerts. For example, this might be where you have your follow alerts, gift alerts, and Superfan alerts.
Find the alert or screen you want to add, then copy its URL.
Add an Individual TikControl Alert Link
In your streaming software, add a new source again.
Choose Link Source in TikTok LIVE Studio, or Browser Source in OBS Studio, Streamlabs, or Meld Studio.
Paste the TikControl alert URL into the box.
For individual alerts, the resolution depends on what you are adding. A good starting point for some alert screens is:
1080 x 600
You may need to adjust this until the alert looks right on your stream.
After adding the source, resize and reposition it manually. In TikTok LIVE Studio, you can drag the corners of the source until it fits where you want it on the screen.
It is also worth renaming the source so it is easier to manage later. For example, instead of leaving it as “Link”, rename it to something like:
TikControl Screen 1
Test the Free Alert Setup
Once the link has been added, go back to TikControl and press the play or test icon for the relevant alert.
You should see the alert appear inside your broadcasting software. If it is too large, too small, or in the wrong place, adjust the source size and position until it looks right.
Repeat this process for any other TikControl alerts or overlays you want to add.
Which Method Should You Use?
The paid overlay editor is the best option if you want the quickest and cleanest setup. You can build your full overlay inside TikControl, copy one link, and add everything to your streaming software at once.
The free method is better if you only want to add a few individual alerts, or if you are happy to manually add and adjust each source.
Both methods work. The best choice depends on how many alerts you want and how much control you need over your TikTok LIVE setup.
Final Thoughts
TikControl makes it much easier to add alerts to your TikTok LIVE computer stream. The paid overlay editor is the fastest option because it lets you manage everything in one place, while the free method still gives you a practical way to add alerts manually.
