Nothing ruins a TikTok LIVE faster than annoying echo. The good news: most echo problems in TikTok LIVE Studio can be fixed with a few quick audio tweaks.
This guide walks you step by step through:
Setting up headphones correctly
Adjusting your microphone settings in TikTok LIVE Studio
Using NVIDIA Broadcast for extra noise and echo removal
Running TikTok’s built-in Echo Check
By the end, your stream should sound clean, clear, and echo-free.
1. Start With Headphones and Audio Output
One of the most common causes of echo is your microphone picking up your speakers.
Plug in a pair of wired or wireless headphones.
In TikTok LIVE Studio, go to the Audio section.
Click the small settings cog under Audio.
Make sure your headphones are selected as the output device (instead of your speakers).
This stops your mic from re-recording the sound coming from your speakers, which dramatically cuts down on echo.
2. Check Your Microphone Settings in TikTok LIVE Studio
Next, let’s optimise your microphone settings directly inside TikTok LIVE Studio.
In TikTok LIVE Studio, click the settings cog.
Go to General Settings.
Under Microphone Device, select your best quality microphone (USB mic, XLR interface, or your preferred headset mic).
Turn on noise suppression and set it to at least Medium.
Turn on Echo Cancellation – this is very important if you’re hearing echo.
Leave the other options as they are unless you know you need them.
Click Save.
For many streamers, this alone will fix the echo issues.
3. Use NVIDIA Broadcast for Extra Echo and Noise Removal
If you have an NVIDIA RTX 20-series or newer graphics card, you can use NVIDIA Broadcast to take your audio cleanup to the next level.
Download NVIDIA Broadcast from the official site:https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/broadcasting/broadcast-app/
Open NVIDIA Broadcast and go to the Audio tab.
Under the Microphone section, select your real microphone as the input.
Turn on:
Noise Removal
Room Echo Removal
These filters help remove background noise and echo from your room.
Go back to TikTok LIVE Studio:
Open your Audio settings again.
Set your microphone device to NVIDIA Broadcast (instead of the physical mic).
Because NVIDIA Broadcast is now handling the cleanup, you can turn off noise suppression and echo cancellation inside TikTok LIVE Studio if you prefer, to avoid doubling up on filters.
Make sure NVIDIA Broadcast stays open while you’re live, or TikTok LIVE Studio will lose that virtual mic input.
4. Read TikTok’s Official Echo Advice
TikTok also provides its own guidance on solving echo issues. It’s worth checking in case there are device-specific tips that apply to you.
You can read it here:https://www.tiktok.com/live/studio/help/article/FAQ/Solving-echo-issues?lang=en
If you’re still hearing echo after following this guide, pause and go through TikTok’s advice carefully. It often highlights common causes such as:
Multiple devices in the same room playing the stream
Phones or tablets too close to your microphone
Having more than one microphone or audio source active at once
5. Run an Echo Check Inside TikTok LIVE Studio
Once you’ve changed your settings, it’s a good idea to test them.
In TikTok LIVE Studio, open the audio mixer at the bottom of the screen.
Click on Echo Check.
Follow the on-screen instructions – TikTok LIVE Studio will analyse your audio and tell you if it detects echo.
If it still reports echo:
Double-check that only one microphone is enabled.
Confirm your output device is headphones, not speakers.
Make sure no other devices in the room are playing your stream.
If you’re using NVIDIA Broadcast, confirm it’s selected as the mic in LIVE Studio and that the app is open.
Quick Echo-Fix Checklist
Before you go live, run through this quick list:

Follow these steps and your TikTok LIVE Studio audio should be clean, clear, and ready for viewers.
