If your TikTok LIVE Studio audio is crackly, too quiet, or your audience can’t hear games or your mic, follow this simple, reliable workflow to get everything talking to each other again.
Step 1: Set devices in Windows
Open Sound settings (press Windows key → type “Sound settings” → Enter).
Under Output, choose your headset (e.g., “Cloud II Wireless”). Use the system volume slider to set what you hear.
Under Input, choose your microphone (e.g., “HyperX QuadCast”). If you’re unsure about gain, set Windows mic level to 100%—we’ll fine-tune inside LIVE Studio.
Step 2: Configure the LIVE Studio Audio Mixer
In TikTok LIVE Studio, open the Audio Mixer.
Remove duplicates: if you’ve accidentally added more than one microphone or headset, click Settings Cog → General Settings → Delete Audio on the extra source(s). Keep one mic and one system-audio source for now.
Select the correct mic: Settings Cog → General Settings → Microphone dropdown → pick the exact device.
Enable noise suppression (start with Medium; try High if viewers report background noise).
Set the mic volume slider to 100 to start; you’ll adjust after testing.
Add/select your headset/speakers for system audio (games, videos). If you insist on using PC speakers, turn on echo cancellation to avoid feedback; with a headset, leave it off. Click Save.
Step 3: Test your setup (quick and foolproof)
In LIVE Studio, press the Record button.
Speak into your mic for a few seconds. To test game/desktop audio, play any short clip (a video or even this tutorial).
Stop recording, click See in folder, and play the file back.
If the mic is too quiet/loud, adjust the mic slider in LIVE Studio.
If your game/desktop audio is missing, re-check the Output device in Windows and the headset/speakers source in the mixer.
Troubleshooting quick checks
Only one mic source in the mixer (duplicates cause phasing/echo).
The correct device names are selected—USB mics and virtual devices often appear with similar names.
Headset connected before you open Live Studio (add devices after they’re plugged in).
If you still get echo, make sure desktop speakers are muted or use a headset with echo cancellation off.
